Our masseurs will assess each individual and provide the appropriate treatment or advice on alternate action.

What is Sports Massage?

Sports Massage is the term applied to the discipline of using massage for the specific benefit of all sports and exercise participants. It covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body eg. Muscles, ligaments and tendons.

The Masseurs

Richard Clarke is our senior masseur and has over 10 years experience and has had research on Sports Massage published in The British Journal of Sports Medicine and The International Journal of Sports Medicine. Having successfully treated professional athletes from most sports, Richard is able to deal with a variety of soft tissue problems. His clients range from young swimmers aged 12 to Ironmen and Triathletes to people in their 70's who have just stiffened up.

 

Sports Massage AssociationWe are also fortunate to have James Prosser with us who as well as being a sports scientist is at level 4 with The Sports Massage Association (SMA) (until recently this was the highest possible level, level 5 is now going to be, which both will be working towards). James has been working a masseur for 6 years and has built up a wealth of experience, working closely with a physiotherapist for the last two years James has excellent treatment results. His clients include Ospreys Players, Hospital referrals and sports men and women from a variety of sports.
